The Department of Health have increasingly restricted the rights of migrants to healthcare. They are now planning to completely abolish access for allegedly failed asylum seekers and other marginalised groups to a GP on the NHS. This would pose serious risks for these patients, for the public health and for medical practice. |

"The International Research Centre on Social Minorities (IRCSM) is coordinating a request for information to be submitted to a number of Special Rapporteurs...IRCSM will make submissions to the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture in relation to fast-track procedures, inter alia on cases where legal representatives believe that Appellants would be at risk of torture upon return (including on issues such as the unwillingness of Immigration Judges to remove cases from fast-track or grant adjournments in order for Appellants to obtain medical reports or other corroborative information)." |
