RESPONSE TO INFORMATION REQUESTED BY THE NATIONAL PATIENTS SAFETY AGENCY (NPSA) FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH

Information came via the Prison Health Service who contacted the Home Office for the information. Immigration Detention Centres

Present: Alan Hollett: Immigration Service; Dr. Jane Anderson: Centre for Study of Sexual Health and HIV; Anna Thomas-Betts: IMB Chair, Colnbrook; Helen Ireland: AVID; Richard Lumley: Refugee Council.
Membership: it was noted that there were none of the specified medical staff in the terms of reference were present. They had been invited but no response. After some discussion it was agreed that the presence of such personnel was an indispensable part of the sub group and therefore steps should be taken to ensure their attendance."
