2 Day National Conference for GPs and Doctors working with Asylum Seekers and Refugees

This event is FREE, including FREE ACCOMODATION.

Organised by : Asylum Team, Department of Health

This two day conference will include a mix of key presentations and workshops, discussions and networking. The event will cover a range of topics such as:

Clinical - Mental health (in the primary care setting), Tropical fevers and rashes, "My Child Won't Eat", Womens Health, Vitamin D deficiency, TB screening, Care of torture survivors

Policy Issues - Destitution, New Asylum Model, DH update, Unaccompanied minors, Voluntary return, Healthcare in Immigration Removal centres.

An exhibition will also take place.

The event is primarily for GPs who work with asylum seekers and refugees, although doctors who work in other settings with this client group may find some of the sessions and the networking opportunities worthwhile.

Places are free of charge and include overnight accommodation and a networking dinner at the venue on Day 1. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, but may be restricted by area to ensure fair representation.
