"The Testimony Project has been set up to give voice to women seeking asylum in the UK. Comprising films, an online forum, legal and practical advice, it is the UK’s first online community dedicated to refugee women and the organisations that support them.

Launch speakers will include Jon Snow (broadcaster and presenter of Channel 4 News), Helen Bamber OBE (founder of the Medical Foundation for Care of Victims of Torture), and Debora Singer (champion of the Refugee Women’s Resource Project at AsylumAid) and will feature the films and oral accounts of women brutalized by the asylum process. It promises to be a powerful and moving evening.

The launch will be held at Amnesty International, 17-25 New Inn Yard, London EC2A 3EA on 23rd July 2009 at 6pm and be followed by a press conference, and drinks.
