The purpose of the Befriender Training and Supervision programme ;
The Supervision Day will be lead by ; Agenda 10.30 – 11.00 Registration & Introduction 11.00 – 12.30 Discussion / Questions & Answers session 12.30 – 13.30 Lunch 13.30 – 16.00 Supervision Surgeries 16.00 – 16.30 Feedback session Questions & Answers session This is an open group session for befrienders to share their experiences, talk about their concerns, and ask advice from the doctor, psychiatrist, solicitor, barrister and experienced befrienders. Supervision Surgeries These will be one-to-one sessions in which befrienders can seek supervision guidance on providing support to specific vulnerable women detainees they are visiting. There will be 4 “surgeries” in separate rooms ;
Feedback Session The feedback session will discuss the benefits of the day, suggestions for the format of the next Supervision Day and suggested additions to the Training Manual.
