From the National Coalition of Anti-Deportation Campaigns (NCADC) ; "Self-Harm requiring medical treatment ; up 51% on first quarter of 2009 Brook House IRC managed on behalf of UKBA by private security firm Group 4 Securicor (G4S) opened on the 18th March 2009. In its' first full three months of operation there have been any number of incidents, indicating that all was not well with the running of the centre; culminating is serious disorder on Friday 12th June. There were 15 incidents of Self-Harm requiring medical treatment in its' first three full months of operation, the highest in the detention estate for over 12 months. The information below was requested under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. There were no deaths in any of the centres or Short-Term Holding Facilities during this period.
