Communities Under Attack: Building an Alliance Against Criminalisation - 04/05/11
"Wednesday 4th May - 7pm to 9pm
Friends House, 173-177 Euston Road, London, NW1 2BJ
For many communities in the UK, surveillance, police brutality, and attacks on civil liberties are daily occurances.
We are overrepresented behind bars - criminalised on the basis of our immigration status, religion, occupation, race and class.
What common challenges do our communities face in the struggle for justice ?
How can we suport each other in countering criminalisation ?
Come and hear from activists and community organisations, with representation from ;
* Cageprisoners
* Newham Monitoring Project
* English Collective of Prostitutes
* Medical Justice
* Bent Bars Project
* Joint Enterprise - Not Guilty by Association
All welcome !
